We buy Fortigates exclusively over the last few years and recently have the need to deploy the SSL VPN client for some Linux users. It appears one can only obtain the Linux client via FDN to which you need two Fortinet employees to vouch for you. FortiClient for Linux FortiClient for Linux protects Linux desktops and servers against malware by leveraging real-time scanning and detecting vulnerabilities before attackers can exploit them. FortiClient also utilizes Sandbox threat intelligence to detect and block zero-day threats that have not been seen before. The FortiClient VPN installer differs from the installer for full-featured FortiClient. You can only download the free VPN client from FNDN or FortiClient.com. When the free VPN client is run for the first time, it displays a disclaimer. You cannot configure or create a VPN connection until you accept the disclaimer: Note that it's possible to connect to Fortinet and other VPNs like Cisco VPN from Linux through the inbuilt network manager by installing additional tools but this post would focus on using the standard Forticlient for accessing the resources on your work network. Here is Forticlient – SSLVPN app we use at my work as an alternative to FortiClient for linux users.
